I mean just 2 or 3 beers. Will doing that kind of set back any progress that the antibiotics have made so far.? I am so sick of coffee, juice and water.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
if the medication says "no alcohol" on the box or leaflet then you shouldn't. but if they say nothing regarding alcohol it's fine.
everyone thinks that it "kills" the antibiotics but alcohol has no effect on the medicine as long as there is nothing warning against it.Health Question & Answer

10 days of antibiotics sounds like you had a nasty infection. The usual instructions are 5-7 days. Because of that, your immune system will already be compromised, so drinking too much alcohol should probably be avoided.

I'd probably suggest 1 or 2 beers, rather than 2 or 3, and it would be best if that only happened on the one occasion over the next few weeks; just until your body is healed.

1 or 2 beers won't compromise the effectiveness of the antibiotics, in most cases. It depends on what kind of infection the medication is being used for. Drink plenty of water between your first and second beer, and have a good night!Health Question & Answer

Depending on what kind of antibiotics you are on,usually there are no interactions, but alcohol can blunt the immune response,so it is best to try to avoid alcohol,so your infection can heal properly without any interferenes. Most antibiotics kick in 2-3 days after you start them,so you want them to work well,so you can get back to your beers after.I don't think 1 beer would really hurt that much though.
Health Question & Answer

Read the label or call a pharmacist. It depends on the specific drug you are taking. If the label doesn't say anything about not using alcohol you can have a few beers and it won't affect how the antibiotics work. However, there are some drugs that react with alcohol and can cause serious problems, so find out first. Any pharmacist should be able to tell you if you give them the name of the drug.Health Question & Answer

From personal experianse DO NOT drink anything with alcohol when you are on antibiotics. That is going to put you body into melt down mode. First off it is not healthy, you will be outting your body into serious risk. Didn' t you learn in school that you don't mix alcohol with drugs... even prescribions!!! Several things could happen. One you could have a serious reaction to the mix and end up in the hospital of side effects or DEAD.
Everyone has heard about the common myth conception that alcohol should never be taken with antibiotics arose.
Even so, it's well known that alcohol can interact quite nastily with a small number of modern drugs potentially causing
nausea,
vomiting,
convulsions,
abdominal cramps,
headaches,
fast heart rate and
Flushing.
