I have also heard to cut a V in the middle of your nail. However, for pain and to loosen the nail and nail bed you can soak your foot in warm epsome salt water.Health Question & Answer
I read somewhere that you get your nail long enough and then in the middle you cut it into a v. That way as the nail grows it pulls together, leaving less on the sides. I've had to do this a couple times after breaking toe nails and it works really well.Health Question & Answer
if they are not too bad, it may be possible for them to grow out. But in my experience there is only one way, and that is to see a Podiatrist. You will be much happier you did. Health Question & Answer
