What is wrong with my daughter?!
Question: What is wrong with my daughter.?
My daughter will be three next month. For the last month or so, she has been having periods of time where she will hold her lower belly and hunch over. She says it hurts. We have taken her to the doctor and they had thought it was a urinary tract infection, but the test came back negative. Then they said that maybe she is masterbating and not to worry. I think she is in pain, but I don't know what it could be. The doctors do not seem to be willing to look into it further, and she has not been in the office while in pain so they have not obverved it. The pain seems to last about 20 minutes and then goes away. Any ideas what it could be and what to do.? should I have her see a specialist, and if so, what kind.? do you think it is digestive, or uninary. sometimes Toddlers have stomach ache from growing spells, she could also have gas related issues. I am uncertain where you live and if the pediatric physician is a reliable source but I am very shocked over the masturbation assumption. If you live in a rural area I would advise you to see a pediatrician in a nearby city. I find the assumption of her masturbating appalling and disturbing, especially coming from a person that has a doctorate. When she has the pain you might want to try to massage HER lower right side of her tummy, which would be the intestines, if you can feel and hear a lot of bubbling and gurgling than she most likely has gas. To calm her stomach down you can try to rub very gently HER left side of the tummy and make sure that it is warm. If she has something wrong with the urinary tract, she would be screaming if you push in the middle of her lower stomach right above her the bone above the pubic area (mons veneris). You might take her to a Gastroenterologist and see if she is having stomach or intestinal problems. If she is hunched over in pain then there is something wrong. Did a doctor really say that they though she might be masturbating.? If so, that's just ridiculous because it wouldn't cause her pain and she's still to young. constipation... maybe... gas, pay attention to what she eats whenever the pain starts.... she might have a food allergy.. or you can take her to one of those natural medicine doctors and have them do an allergy test on her, however don't let them sell you their expensive herbel medicines you can always get them a lot cheaper....Health Question & Answer
