Is this normal? Last week, when I woke up and stood out of bed..... ?!
Question: Is this normal.? Last week, when I woke up and stood out of bed..... .?
both of my calves hurt so bad that I could not walk right. I did not do anything out of the ordinary to make this happen. I rested then and put ice on them. Two days ago, the calves felt better but I developed shin splints. Today, everything feels better, but my legs are so weak that I can't stand on my tippy toes. I can't even put on pants without holding onto a chair. How can I make my legs stronger, and what caused all of this.Health Question & Answer

You don't mention your age - have you been pretty sedentary lately.? If you haven't been getting regular exercise, that can affect everything else. I assume you're not diabetic, which can affect circulation, or you would have mentioned that.
When you first wake up, don't get right out of bed - gently stretch your calves, first by extending the toe, then the heel.
And perhaps you walk/run a lot but don't have adequate footgear. Something else to look into.
If you want a definitive answer to your question, you may want to see an orthopedist. But it doesn't sound like it's called for at this point.Health Question & Answer

You should exercise at least 30 minutes a day and be sure to stretch out before and after for a long time, especially your legs and calves. also drink at least 8 glasses of water a day to avoid cramps in your muscles.Health Question & Answer
