I think I have arthitis?!

Question: I think I have arthitis.?
I've been having these joint pains from my knee to my ankle since I was in the 10th grade (15 years old) and now I'm 17. Before I thought it was cause I be on my feet all the time but it hurts even when I don't be on it. Sometimes when I walk I start limping, and my whole right leg hurts terribly. Like 2 days ago from my ankle to my foot it start swelling up...it looked disgusting. Now it just getting worse I've been doing research about it just in case it's something else but all of it is in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.....does anybody knows whats going on...I can't even walk anymore..it hurts...really bad.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
The thing is, arthritis is a disease of the JOINTS, like the knee or the ankle. But from what you're writing, it sounds like your pain is in the leg itself, not the joints.

I'm wondering if you have a stress fracture in your leg, a tiny break in the bone. You probably know you should see a doctor about this.

Have you tried aspirin.? If you still think it's arthritis, it's often responsive to aspirin. You don't want to use it all the time, btu try two aspirins every four hours for a day and see if you get real relief.

There's an over-the-counter supplement that seems to help with the joint inflammation of arthritis. It's called glucosamine chondroitin. It may work right away or take weeks to kick in, but that's what some docs are starting with these days.Health Question & Answer
