Am I an Alcoholic? please help me?!

Question: Am I an Alcoholic.? please help me.?
I just love being drunk.... yknow.. the feeling of being drunk....
and I love studying when I'm at that state...
as the matter of fact.. It actually helps me to study and memorize all the stuff... and since I remember everything I've done while drunk...
I don't have any problem with drunk-study....
I drink about a gallon of a beer... in an empty stomach...
and of course I feel a little tired when the alcohol kicks into my system.. but I just enjoy fighting against it... the fatigue... and stuff..
I don't want to be sober... I guess that's my problem...
being drunk is so ... good...
sorry If I sound like an idiot.. but I really can't help it..
I take prozac and wellbutrin so I can get over it...
but It really doesn't help...
you can criticize me and say whatever you want to say..
I just want to get the objective judgement...
so I can grasp the accurate situation/problem and fix it...
help me... please... what should I do...Health Question & Answer

You might be, do you feel drawn towards it like you can't keep your hands off the drink itself.? If so, you may have a disposition to alcoholism and you're developing it right now. Keep in mind this is a life choice, by doing this to yourself you realize that you're destroying brain cells and putting immense pressure on both your kidneys and your liver. If you're drinking that much beer I recommend some caution on your part, because you as a whole suffers. Neurologically it's proven to damage more than help you in terms of memorization and your over all ability to remember things.
To be honest by reading this it seems to me like you may be running away from something or at least are in the attempt of using a substance to perhaps remove yourself from reality... That's purely an assumption my friend but I will tell you that though it seems great now, in the long run but the strain may be more than you can handle.

For health purposes I would recommend detox because your behavior suggests that you're losing a battle against yourself. The people in those centers are there for your benefit. Or perhaps you should take some classes to help manage your drinking problem you're swaying towards alcoholism and once you're there there is no going back, there is no cure for the disorder. I would even suggest therapy if those programs don't benefit you. You can't always pull the mountain by yourself, perhaps it's time to have someone help you pull it.

Best of luck to you.

If you have other questions don't be afraid to e-mail me or if you want to talk the options there as well.

Aj McLean from the backstreet boys was an alchoholic and a drug user. He went to rehab and he loved it ! no whe's been sober for about 6 years now. .. maybe u should try .? Health Question & Answer

well, it sounds like you have a problem. and im not judging. its really not healthy for you to drink that much, moderation is the key!
and it is definately NOT good to mix prescription drugs and booze, it is very dangerous in fact.
so i suggest that you seek help, maybe there is a counselor at school or check something out with your doctor. i think you will be much happier and healthier after you are sober. just try it!

GOOD LUCK TO YOU, god is with you always.

maybe just stop by an AA meeting. you never know unless you TRY :)
my uncle is an alchoholic on and off for at least 25 years (my age) and he has lived with us, now lives w my grandma and makes her life hell.and now his liver is failing.Health Question & Answer

Alcoholism is a disease and like most illnesses you must first admit that there is a problem which needs to be addressed, and then seek the treatment you will need to be able to combat your illness. First, you need to talk with someone you think you can trust, who will understand, and help you through the process! But of course, you may not be not have had to take this route, if you had such an individual. Since you said you are a student, I would like to suggest that you seek help locally within your school's counseling department. Seek to begin recovery of some sort. I also recommend that you will consider my University @ Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Tx. because we have an excellent program for students who are in recovery and still wish to continue their studies, it is part of our Center of Addiction and Recovery. Contact Me or Google Texas Tech and Center of Addiction and Recovery. Some Excellent resources in this college, our professors, Comiskey and Kimball are a few I have had the pleasure of knowing! God bless you...One day at a time!!!Health Question & Answer
