Side effects of Percocet/Oxycodone after 1 months usage?!

Question: Side effects of Percocet/Oxycodone after 1 months usage.?
Hi everyone... I've been on Percocet for about 1 month now. I fractured my L1 spine. When I first started taking the drug, it made me sleepy but of course I was injured so I needed the rest. Now, I am not sleepy but have no energy. My heart beats so fast at times and I feel a great deal of anxiety. Some days are ok, and some days are tortureous for me. Are these feelings of anxiety and depression normal.? I'm usually a very active person, this is so hard for me... please help :)Health Question & Answer

If you fractured your L1 spine a month or so ago, you shouldn't need to be taking Percocet. You have the side effects now and they may get worse. The anxiety and depression is not normal and is being caused by the medication. My wife takes it for a multitude of problems she has, and I know from experience, that your body will get addicted to it and when you try getting off of it your body will react. Her muscles would tighten and the pain that came with that is unbearable. She now takes MS Contin 45 Mg's three times a day. It doesn't come in 45 strength, so they give her a 30 Mg and a 15 Mg. But MS Contin is also a narcotic but with her problems if she didn't take them, she wouldn't be able to walk. My advice to you is to get off of it before it gets a hold on you. You could see how you would do with just a 800 Mg Ibuprofen twice a day to see how it works for you. But I wouldn't take that for to long either. Did they put you in care of a Therapist for a while. If they didn't, by now you should be. You need to go to medlineplus.com and read about Percocet yourself, or any medical site like Web MD. You don't say that you are having a lot of pain now, just other symptoms or side effects. Do as you will but I personally would get off the narcotic. I wish for you the very best young lady and hope things get better for you. Good luck.Health Question & Answer
