Knee arthritis and meniscus tear?!


Question: Knee arthritis and meniscus tear.?
I am in my twenties and according to my mri this what the problem is. What is the treatment.? The mri also said possible tear, doesn't that pretty much mean it's torn.?Health Question & Answer

This is the same thing I have/ had. You have a choice, if the meniscus tear is not too bad it can just take its own time to heal and you will just have to stay off of it. Otherwise you can have surgery.
Now, for the arthritis, if there is rough edges on the bone then the doctor will want to go in (have surgery) and smooth out these rough edges. I had to have surgery to smooth out one of my edges and fix my meniscus tear. Your not off for too long and it should slow down any further damage that may occur if not stop almost all other damage.Health Question & Answer
