Would anyone recommend bunion surgery? Does it really help or is it just a cosmetic thing?!

I suffered from painful walking for 2 years until I finally gave in and had an orthopedic physician remove both bunions. I wish I would have done it sooner as I have no pain and my shoes actually fit.

depends where. sometimes its more than cosmetic. it can interfere with your life. shoes may be unconfortable. if you're at a job where closed heel and toes pumps are part of the uniform, bunions could probably hurt! now, i you if a slight bump on the side of your foot and just dont like the way it looks, that's more cosmetic. but if the doctors think it is more than that, it's not cosmetic.

i was a dancer growing up and i have a slight, very slight bunion but it doesnt bother me.Health Question & Answer
