seriously you don't need crutches just rest up - a pulled muscle takes a few days to get better, if you stop using it it will get worse as it stiffens up. Health Question & Answer

It's actually good for the healing process to walk with a pulled muscle. It speeds recovery and builds strength in the hurt area. Just be careful, walk slow, and don't do any other activity. It takes time for a pull/tear to heal, anywhere from a day to 3 weeks or more. Once you are able to walk normal and without pain (I'm guessing in a week) you should start riding a stationary bike (or real one) for a half hour or so to help the muscle heal further. No other activities though. Then after you can do that easily and the area doesn't get sore, you can start running again. You shouldn't push yourself again, like play football, for a month or more... Just take it slow and be careful.

For the pain you can take tylenol or any other over the counter pain meds your Mom will give you. Eat well, especially protein, and that'll help the muscle build itself back. You can ice it a little everyday, but that won't really help much except in the first 24-48 hours.

There are plenty of articles online to help you with this.Health Question & Answer
