It sounds like you went to the ER. Did they refer you to an Orthopedic.? Do you have a primary Doc.? You need to be seen as soon as possible by and orthopedic. If you don't already have an appointment you need to call them immediately and tell them what is going on. If you do have one you need to call them immediately and see if they can see you NOW. It sounds like the swelling is getting to be too much for the cast that was applied and they may need to replace it with a different one. Until you get into see the doctor, make sure your leg is elevated above your heart level. That means lay down on the couch flat and get your leg up higher. Take Advil to help with swelling. If you don't already have an orthopedic set up, your regular doctor can help get things moving a little faster and perhaps get you in to see one fast. Give them a call.

Oh, and you could have broken something that the ER missed. It happens all the time, if it isn't an obvious dislocated fracture. That's another reason to see an ortho quickly. To make sure the injury is being treated properly.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Health Question & Answer

Did they take x-rays.?
It seems pretty unlikely that they would miss a broken bone, but it does happen...

Sounds like maybe the cast is cutting off circulation to your toes, but anything we say here would only be a guess.

You should go back to the doctor who set the bone as soon as you possibly can.

Best of luck
