Question: Terrified of shots....?
I have to get a menengitis shot tommorow, and im already panicked. What can I do to not be so panicked.? Does it hurt.? I had my tentnus shot 2 years ago and it hurt so bad. Health Question & Answer

I am scared to death of shots. I always make sure that I let the person in charge of the shot know this. I tell them I'm going to look away and that they are not to let me know when they'll be giving the shot. I turn away, close my eyes, and before I know it, it's done. when i get shots i think about something else, i know it sounds simple but it does take some true work. You have to really think hard about something else, like i play soccer so i usually think about how i can improve my running or skills or technique.You have to really concentrate on something else like maybe a complicated math problem.

There are things that hurt worse such as getting mennegitis or tetanus. Injections are a part of our life. They only hurt for a second and/or your arm (or wherever) might be sore at the injection site for a day or two, but it's no big deal. Suck it up and tough it out. Health Question & Answer
No it dosen't hurt. Even so a quick sharp scratch is better then having menengitis. Anyway you go in sit down quick prod with the needle off you go. I had it done when I was 18 after a guy in our town died of it.Health Question & Answer
