Do I need stitches if it's been 4 days since I busted my head open?!
Question: Do I need stitches if it's been 4 days since I busted my head open.?
I jumped out of a moving car (15 mph maybe) 4 days ago and I busted my head open. It was bleeding but not SO much. I checked today and the cut is only about an inch long but still open. What's the worst that can happen if I don't get stitches right away.? I've just been putting a bandage on it, and I have a headache all day long. When I sit and then stand, my head feels even worst. When I sneeze it feels like my head is about to explode.

With the laceration, you will get a massive scar. The docs may not be able to suture, but they may be able to glue the wound.
As for your other symptoms, as this injury happened 4 days ago, and looking at your mechanism of injury, I would suggest attending your local ED and getting an xray and or a head CT scan.
This may find a fracture in your skull or even worse you may have a bleed on your brain causing these symptoms.
As a side note for everyone else: ALL head injuries are a medical emergency. At the least, you can get concussion, at worst you may need emergency surgery to alleviate pressure on the brain from bleeding - a life threatening emergency.Health Question & Answer
