Question: Do i have a torn meniscus.?
the back outside of my right knee pops. it kind of feels like two bones are grinding. it does not hurt. i have osgood slaughter's disease and flat feet. i have had knee injuries but i do not recall this being a result of one. is this a symptom of a meniscus tear.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Meniscus is thick cartilage in the knee that keeps the bones from rubbing. Should this be ripped, the pain is excruciating. You do not have a torn meniscus, but probably have pulled a tendon and can feel it popping over the bones. Get it checked out just to be sure proper healing will take place.Health Question & Answer

It does not sound like a meniscus tear to me. I've had tears in both knees and both of them hurt on the inside of the knee (like if you put your knees together it hurts on the part that is touching). It is usually a sharp, pinching type of pain and it doesn't hurt all the time. There were a few times it was an ache type of pain, but more often the pinching. And so.....are you going to see the doctor.? Hope all goes well.Health Question & Answer

I have a torn medial meniscus, and it hurts like mad! ...when it pops, I can't walk for a couple days... worst pain I have ever felt! ...if you are uncertain, see an orthopedic Dr ...it will take an MRI to know for sure ...it could be arthritis, in my opinionHealth Question & Answer

No, I don't think so.

From what I've heard, damaging the meniscus is extremely painful.
I could have heard wrong, though.Health Question & Answer
