You need to get this checked. As bloody stools are a sign of various things, not just ulcers. Other possibilities are bowel problems and all things need to be caught as soon as possible so that you dont have to have surgery. Most times these things are treatable outside of hospital however you do need catch them before they get any worse. If you no tin any intense pain then chances are you wont have to have them removed or sewn shut. Do not listen to those telling you the worst. You need to just calm down, dont worry. Take yourself to the doctor and get better this way. Take it step by step dont think about the worst. If you need someone to chat to feel free to drop me a line. Get better soon. Yes, I am not going to sugar coat it to you. I haven't had any ulcers, but I have had a few friends that have had bleeding ulcers, and they have had to have emergency surgery on them. I don't know if they remove them, but I do know that they will sew them up; and yes, it is very painful to have it done, my friends told me. also, it is very stressful and traumatic as well.Health Question & Answer

Ulcers don't get removed. They get treated usually with antibiotics and antacids. They're like a sore on your skin.

If your bloody stools are dark or black, that would be from an ulcer. If there's red blood in your stool that would be from in your lower intestine or rectum.

In any case you need to see a doctor.

Health Question & Answer

If this is the case, get to the doctor. Ulers are stomach sores, and I don't think they remove them. The blood from an ulcer would be black. Red blood indicates something else.Health Question & Answer
