Question: Hand is sore to bend after getting arm cast off.?
I just got my cast off I had on for the past 2 months and now when I try to bend my hand forward it hurts and is hard to bend unlike my other hand.
Is this normal after getting a cast off and long does it take for it to go back to normal.?
And please don't put something like "call the doctor" cause I already went there and he said it healed fine.Health Question & Answer

yeah thats pretty normal. You have to think that you havnt moved your wrist for two months now. All those muslces are gona be real stiff. Just try and stretch it as much as you can. Once it gets to the point where it starts to hurt, then stop. Move it a little more each day and in a few days you will be fineHealth Question & Answer
This is a common complaint after wearing a cast. The muscles weaken and the joints stiffen. Gradually increasing activity with range of motion exercizes will solve the problem in a few weeks. It's peculiar your doctor didn't explain this to you.Health Question & Answer
it's probably normal...when i had my leg cast off it hurt for quite a while...try doing some physical therapy with it to strengthen it...that is what helped me and i was back to 100% in no time...Good luck with ur hand and i hope it improves soon!!Health Question & Answer
Give it a while to heal. If it feels a kind of numb or has some swelling, then ask the doctor to prescribe some medicines. If not, then rest and gradual movements will ease the healing process.Health Question & Answer
Perfectly normal..your muscles have been @ rest for 2 months..now using them you are stretching stiff muscles..work with them every day & soon they will be back to normal. Soak them in very warm water and move them around under water..helps a lot.Health Question & Answer
