Low back pain/tinging sensation?!

Question: Low back pain/tinging sensation.?
I hurt my back working as a CNA about 3 months ago. My doctor ordered x-rays but they were negative. I have had low back pain, right in the middle, for 3 months now, and when it hurts, I have a tingling sensation all over my body. I went to the ER thinking it was a pinched nerve, but they said my potassium was low. That is not the case, and I've had the symptoms continuously since then. Any ideas on what this could be.? Maybe a herniated disc.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
If your pain stays in your back, it is probably not a herniated disc. Symptoms of a herniated disc are radiating pain with numbness down one of your legs. Depending on your age (if you are older it could be stenosis) but more than likely it is a strain. That requires time and possibly physical therapy to strengthen your core. I would see an orthopedist for evaluation and possibly an MRI, X-rays only show bones, an MRI will show the soft tissue as well. The sooner you get a diagnosis, the sooner you can begin treatment. It could be a herniated disk. You should get a MRI. It is more detailed than x-rays, because they only show bones. I had a lower back injury and had to have surgery. I wish you luck and hope you reported it at work.Health Question & Answer
