Answers:
You do have a right in defense to kill somebody breaking into your property. My grandfather did it once (he was also a police officer) in order to defend himself and his family.

PERSONALLY- I would keep a baseball bat really close and crush the guys kneecaps once I had the chance.

Then again, I don't have a family to think of.

Addition: I found this in a website:
"DEFENSE, SELF-DEFENSE - A defense to certain criminal charges involving force (e.g. murder).

Use of force is justified when a person reasonably believes that it is necessary for the defense of oneself or another against the immediate use of unlawful force. However, a person must use no more force than appears reasonably necessary in the circumstances.

Force likely to cause death or great bodily harm is justified in self-defense only if a person reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent death or great bodily harm."

In other words, you don't know what the extent of this criminal is intending on your family. If he is breaking into your house, it is safe to assume he is there to hurt you and your family. So yes, it is your right to kill him in defense of yourself and your family. Sorry for the long post.Health Question & Answer

Uhh.. depends on what state i think.. Last time i checked in Texas, some lady shot a dude with a shotgun and killed him because he broke into her house.. she didnt get any time in jail, not even a slap on the wrist, another case was when this dude shot the robber in the foot and waited for the cops to come, and everytime he moved, he got shot in the other foot. (also in texas) but on the contrary i think in michigan some robber tripped and fell inside the house he was breaking into and sued the homeowner and won.. Health Question & Answer

Best to ask your local law enforcement officers. Some states have the one foot in law if you shoot someone some don't matter how far they are in as long as they got one foot inside on forced entry some states don't. . Why not call and ask it cant hurt and could save you some jail time plus get extra patrol in your area.Health Question & Answer

you probably have the right to hurt.
if the guy is trying to break into your house and harm you and your family, you can't get into trouble for that.
i'd contact the police and talk to them.Health Question & Answer

Just call the police and ask them for advice! They will possibly station squad cars, or perform drive-by's and they will possibly install police alarms. They can also tell you if its ok to kill/hurt. (Killing is kind of harsh isnt it.?)Health Question & Answer

I wouldn't think so, but every country/state/whatever has their own rules. If you think he's going to come back, do the smart thing and notify the POLICE.Health Question & Answer

YEAH!!! Hurt him badly, but dont kill him...Health Question & Answer
