OK...this may sound a little wierd, but I have to ask. A few hours ago my niece ate a big blue M&M icecream treat. It had a darkish blue chocolate shell on it. Well she just went #2 and her poop was a dark, yet very bold blue. It even stained her bottom blue! Is something wrong.?Health Question & Answer

This is definitely normal. Actually, eating blue snowballs or blueberries can do the same thing. Basically, a human's colon cannot process out the dye in certain foods, thus resulting in the blue bowel movements.

I wouldn't worry too much. When my sister was younger she swallowed a piece of gum. Minutes later she pooped it out, and it had all the chew marks from her teeth and everything. I guess children just poop weird.Health Question & Answer
It's the blue dye. The treat really must have a lot of blue dye in the content, which isn't digested and basically....comes out the other end.Health Question & Answer
