Question: I am in sooo much pain, can anyone help me.?

I am 18 years old and just found out I have a kidney stone (I know really uncommon for someone my age) I went to the ER last night and they did x rays and found it, it is 7mm and the doctors think I should be able to pass it on my own within the next couple of days... Right now I am in the worst pain of my life, I do have pain medication, it helps but makes me even more nauseaus. Is there anyway to make the process go faster and how bad does it hurt when I actually pee it out.? Does the pain of it passing hurt worse than the pain I'm in now, I am scared out of my mind right now.

it is going to be the worst pain you will probably experience, aside from pregnancy and labor. One thing you can do to help that stone come down is use gravity as your tool, so get up and keep walking around. Walking is the number one tool we use in the emergency department to help people pass stones, that and drink lots and lots of water to help bring that stone out. You have to realize, kidney stones are tiny pebbles but have razor sharp edges all over them so as they move and pass through the ureter they basically cut everything they pass by. I too had a kidney stone some year ago. It very painfull l have to bear with it about few weeks.After l visit ER the doctor give me one jab,l feel relieve and the kidney stone gone when l urine heavily.Health Question & Answer
