I have pain when I urinate?!

Question: I have pain when I urinate.?
Sorry if tmi, but I am concerned about this problem and it won't go away.

About a week after delivering my son, I developed pain when I urinated. I went on a course of antibiotics for a UTI, but the pain persisted. I also developed a uterine infection. When the doctor palpated my insides to diagnose the uterine infection, she also pressed on the urethra, which gave me some mild pain. I went on a course of Levaquin for the infection. However, I still have some pain with urination.

To put it specifically, it feels like there's something stuck in the urinary tract when I go to the bathroom. And it hurts somewhat to press on the area slightly. And if this detail matters, after I pee and it seems like nothing else will come out, I stand up and quite a bit more dribbles out. I am confused and want this to go away. Please help.?Health Question & Answer

You should ask your doctor if there is a possibility that you have a nosocomial infection (hospital acquired infection). These can be particularly nasty and resistant to antibiotics because they have been able to survive traditional sanitation techniques and treatment. Cathaters are a notorious cause of infection in hospitals. also, there could be something in your urethra. Hope this helped! Health Question & Answer

You really need to see a doctor and the sooner the better. It sounds like there may be something stuck in there or possibly even a larger infection. I would go to the ER.Health Question & Answer
