Left chest and arm pain.... please answer?!

Question: Left chest and arm pain.... please answer.?
I have a sharp pain in my chest everytime I breathe in and a dull pain there when I'm not. But at the same time my chest hurts, my upper left arm and shoulder do too. It doesn't seem to affect my heart area, it's more of the lung.

Could it be nerve damage, or something from me sleeping.? I'm trying to get a doctors appointment, but do you have any idea what this could be.

also, could it be from stress.? Health Question & Answer

No it wouldnt bwe a heart attack ur lungs may hurt but you should not have a heart attack at 16 you would of already know that you had heart issues so you can rule out heart attack

It would be a cracked rib (you could of slep wrong)
there is nothing a doc can do for a cracked rib but give pain meds

It sounds like pleurisy. This is just air caught in the pleura of the lung. It's not dangerous just very uncomfortable. It may last a few days but will diminish on it's own.

* Take some ibuprophen, it will help with the inflammation as well as the discomfort.

* It's not a heart attack, it's related to the lung.Health Question & Answer

im not sure on the spelling but sounds like it could be pluresy, i myself have had problems with it. i went to the emergency with mine because i also have asthma and all i knew was i couldnt breathe cause it hurt, the gave me a shot a shot for the inflamation and told me to take aleve for the pain. Pluresy is an inflamtion in the lining of your lungs. but it is nothing critical and should be ok until you can get to a regular doctor apponitment, and cheaper too

I live with the same pain every day of my life! Mine is caused by nerve damage in my neck. You may have knotted up muscles in your neck from sleeping wrong. Try sleeping with your head raised slightly and keep moist heat on your neck. If you start to have tingling and or numbness in your finger tips you will need an MRI of your neck to check for nerve interruption. Good luckHealth Question & Answer

My mom used to get pleurosy (I have no idea how to spell that - sorry) and it was an inflamation of the lining of the lungs. She described it like you did. It doesn't kill you but it's worth a trip to the doctor. Health Question & Answer

go to the doctor right away! both my grandfather and mom have died from a heart attack and they experienced those same symptoms a lot when they were alive! please see a doctor about it or something i beg of you. dont let it go untreated!Health Question & Answer

Go to the ER, it could be a heart attack. Many women will feel stomach pains or other symptoms that they don't suspect to be caused by a heart attack and as a result many don't get treatment in time. Get it checked out now. Health Question & Answer

My sister had complained of similar issues and it turned out to be nothing serious. Wait and see what the doctor says, and don't let any of the ignorant people on YA scare you.Health Question & Answer

You need to go to an urgent care, or hospital. My cousin had the same symptoms when her lung collapsed. It also could be cardiac related. Both are very serious...and need immediate medical attention.Health Question & Answer
