Question: This is really "Bugging" me: I was sitting on my porch last night, when all of a sudden, I felt what was ... .?
... the most painful sting/bite on my forearm. When I looked down, expecting to see a substantially-sized insect, I had to strain my eyes to see what was causing so much pain! It was then that I discovered "the culprit" -- a teeniest red spider-like insect -- and even after I wiped it away, I still felt the pain along with itching. But today, you would never know I had been bitten since there isn't any telltale bite, mark or swelling, And I do not feel any side effects. I am familiar, by the way, with the different kind of ticks there are, having lived in Connecticut for over 25 years. So I know the insect was not a tick. Please, does anyone know what insect I am describing.? It really is "Bugging" me !! Thanks, in advance !!Health Question & Answer

Sounds like a chigger...tiny red spider that gets under your skin if they can. They bite, then bury themselves into your skin causing itching...alcohol will kill themHealth Question & Answer
Definately a chigger. Rub some alcohol or full blown acetone on the mark and it'll kill the bug [[which might still be in your skin, chigger's are parasites]] and remove the itch.Health Question & Answer
