Wrist Pain! Please Help! Xx?!

Question: Wrist Pain! Please Help! Xx.?
Hi everyone! Every so often I get a problem with my right wrist. The pain is mainly in the centre of my wrist and I feel a great deal of pain when I move my hand upwards, downwards (I struggle to move my hand all the way up and all the way down because of the pain), when I make a waving motion and when I roll my hand in a circle motion. It also sometimes hurts when I open and close my fist or wiggle my three main fingers (not the baby one). If I squeeze the middle of my wrist with the thumb and index finger of my other hand (the thumb on the bottom where you would take the pulse and the index finger on the top) it really hurts and that is the main point of the pain. I also hear it clicking sometimes but it is not sprained or dislocated or anything like that. This happens every so often and I cannot seem to shake it but then it will suddenly disappear only to happen again. I can

Hello Googler_47,

This sounds very much like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Check this little vid out (watch how nervous that doc is in it lol) it'll give some tips and info. Its common and nothing to get scared about but things will have to change if you want the pain to lesson. Look at your palm and wrist. The "Funny bone" nerve continues past the elbow and ends up running under your wrist to extend out to your fingers. Now all your forearm muscles end up controling your wrist movment and fingers, so They have to fit their tendons in at the wrist too. This is all held together by a big tendon like rubber band thats slapped over them and connects at the sides of the wrist. Now lets say you jump on the computer and are typing in a bad position for your wrists for a full day. That rubber band gets inflamed (swollen) or anything else going under it does because you stressed it out, then the one that pays is the nerve cause its softer. Nerve gets squeezed and pain, tingleing, and numbness can follow. Once you stop typing for a weekend or a day or even for 5 minutes (depending how stressed it was), the Stress is relieved, the Swelling goes down, nerve isn't squeezed anymore and pain goes away.
1. IB Profen reduces swelling(the most important reason for taking it) AND helps with the pain.
2. FIND OUT what is stressing your tendons and change things. i.e. Ergonomic Keyboard, wearing a wrist brace for work, typing with better wrist posture, ect.
3. Go see an Orthopaedic Doc to check it out so he can hook you up with Horse Pill Size IB Profen and a wrist brace and whatever else real doctors do. :-)

You'll be SOO happy when you do these steps (particularly #3), and get some real solutions for getting rid of alot of your pain. You'll do great.Health Question & Answer
