Have you got/had High Blood Pressure?!

Question: Have you got/had High Blood Pressure.?
I've got high blood pressure (150+/99!!!) and the doc's put me on medication to lower it.

How low is it safe for it to drop.? I know high blood pressure is known as 'The Silent Killer' because you can't feel the damage it's doing to your heart, but how low is 'Low Blood Pressure'.?.?.?

(I'm still alive at the moment as it's hovering at a healthy 117/78!!!! Daft thing is, I feel exactly the same as I did when it was sky high! But that's why they call it 'The Silent Killer' I suppose!)Health Question & Answer

Answers:
In your case, dont worry about your blood pressure dropping too much, it wont.
Low blood pressure is roughly 90/60, and at this point, someone should seek medical help.
I wouldnt expect the medication to make you feel any different, blood pressure doesnt normall affect your concious person, it is just important to make sure ure BP isnt too high cos this can lead to very serious complications.
Just keep taking the medicine, do more exercise, and if you smoke, stop!Health Question & Answer

Mine's higher than that - 180/104 at last check and the doc doubled my tablets - don't seem to be having any effect either :( Quite worrying really as I am fit and healthy otherwise and don't do anything really detrimental to my health. You need to be around 120/80 for normal.Health Question & Answer

90-120 is considered normal for the top number.
60-80 is normal for the bottom.

So... lowest you could go and be considered healthy would be 90/60. I wouldn't go that low though. Mine has always hovered around 103/68. Health Question & Answer

My readings tend to hover between High 140 Low 68 Pulse 70.Health Question & Answer
