I've had this big boil in my bum crack for the past 3 or 4 days. It's getting VERY painful! I want to pop it but it hurts to much. It hurts to walk and wipe especially! Does anyone have home remedies.?.?Health Question & Answer

I honestly feel your pain, my boil was right where my leg joins my butt cheek and by time i got it seen to it was the size of a golf ball no kidding. Boils usually pop on there own but your obviously has not. Here is what i tried, Drawing gel from the chemist..nope didn't work, ice cubes..nope pooping it with a needle...nope pouring boiling water over bread and wrapping it in a tea towel to hold on it..bloody hot but didn't work either. Honestly i could not sit, stand or walk. i ended up going to the doctor and they had to lance it, cut the top off and drain it then they filled the hole with wadding and i had to go back every second day and have the wadding pulled out and re packed for two weeks. What im trying to say is please get it seen too as you think the boil is pain full or going to the doctor embarrassing, that's nothing compared with having the damm thing repacked every second day OUCH, good luckHealth Question & Answer
You can put warm moist heat on it three times a day about twenty to thirty minutes at a time to bring the core of the infection to the surface or to the head of the boil to the surface. The downside is you HAVE TO GO TO THE DOCTOR. You must be put on antibiotic therapy because boils can lead to MRSA.(methicillin staph aureus) which is highly contagious. The doctor may lance the boil so the infection can drain and then he should put some idiform type gauze in there which is a tiny strip of long gauze that can be packed into the wound bed which in turn will help the healing process. Sit on a hot as you can handle wet towel for awhile to get the boil 'to head' then sterilise a needle by boiling it or putting it in a dish in the microwave with water for 5 mins, when the head shows, lance the boil to drain, and disinfect the site with dettol or something similar....Health Question & Answer
take a really hot bath.but first take some ibuprofen.for the pain.then in a hour when you get out of the bath pop it.if it still won't pop wait a day and try it again.i was told that boils are caused by your blood being too thick. the ibuprofen will thin it.Health Question & Answer
