How do tendons and ligaments heal?!

Question: How do tendons and ligaments heal.?
I know the lack of blood going into them causes them to take a very long time to heal, so how do they heal.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
That's a great question. Your body, through what is called catabolism, or contructive metabolism, uses the nutrients that are in the food you eat and supplements that you might take, to build and repair cells and tissue.

Protein, which breaks down into amino acids, is the main nutrient that the body uses to repair cells and tissues throughout the body.

It gets to those cells that need repair through the blood stream, so that's why good circulation improves healing time. You can't fix something if the repair materials aren't there, so poor circulation slows down healing.

The body needs energy to do all this repairing, so it needs carbohydrates and fats, oxygen to create that energy, as well as water to help everything work right.

Basically, it's the quality of the nutrition that you give your body and how your body uses it that determines how well it can heal.
