I injured my wrist 5 weeks ago and i'm still experiencing slight pain?!

Question: I injured my wrist 5 weeks ago and i'm still experiencing slight pain.?
About 5 weeks ago i felt my wrist crack as i tried to lift a desk. At the time it was throbbing but there was no swelling or bruising. I still have full movement of fingers and almost full rotation of wrist but its not without discomfort. The pain area is around the wrist bone not the scaphoid which i have previously broken about 8 years ago. Can anyone suggest what this pain is or any sort of cure. Could it be dislocated or just badly sprained.?Health Question & Answer

Most likely it is just sprained. You would definately know if it was dislocated. You can take pretty much any over the counter pain relivers. It should be fine, but if it starts to swell or the pain intensifies, then go see a doctor.Health Question & Answer

I am not sure exactly what will have happened. As annoying as it is when people say this on Yahoo Answers: You should probably see your GP.

I can tell you though that there is no 'wrist bone' as such. There are 8 bones in the wrist called carpals. One of them is the Scaphoid (navicular) as you said. The other 7 are the Pisiform, Triquetrum, Hamate, Capitate, Lunate, Trapezoid and TrapeziumHealth Question & Answer

This is fairly common, seeing as its your wrist your using it all the time. Try not to use it for a couple of days. Take it easy.Health Question & Answer

Abuse it and ignore the pain...if you continue feeling something wrong then you might have to bother going to an orthopedistHealth Question & Answer

possible bone contusion, takes longer for a bone contusion to heal versus a dislocation or sprainHealth Question & Answer
