I agree with Karli. Sleep Apnoea is very common. Ask someone in your house if you snore a lot. This is one of the outward signs of sleep apnoea.

Some people will tell you that you are either a) too young to have it (some kids as young as 5 have it) or b) you're too skinny to have it (my husband weights less than 145 lbs. and has it).

Ask your doctor to set up an appointment with a sleep specialist and ask for a sleep study to be done. They will monitor you throughout the night with a bunch of probes (none directly into the skin) to find out if you stop breathing and how many times in one night (you don't realize that this happens when you sleep, you roll over or something that starts the breathing again. It is only for a few seconds at a time). A suggestion I have for you is to take your own pillow with you for the test. I know that sleeping in a strange bed is difficult for some people but having your own pillow helps. also, make sure you wear very comfortable PJ's. Even better would be if you were to wear a T-shirt and shorts because of the probes they put on your legs.

Another thing that could be happening is called Restless Leg Syndrome. This is where your legs are active when you sleep. They could kick out and things like that. Are your blankets all messed up in the morning when you wake up.? Again, this can be determined when you have a sleep study done.

Please don't delay in asking for this test. If you are a student, your grades could be affected from being so tired all the time. My daughter's grades improved from a 65% average to over 80% once she was diagnosed and treated. If you are working, again, your productivity on the job is probably affected by this and it will improve with treatment.
