Answers:
Have you tried going for a brisk walk at about 7-8pm to try and tire you out a little. Then have the bath with maybe some real essential oils in such as marjoram (a relaxant) and Lavender to sooth away any stresses you may have.
also try a milky drink and keep away from caffeine based drinks.
also is anything worrying you.?
Don't get up to bake cakes as this will just wake you up more. be firm with yourself and stay in bed. maybe try soothing music or radio on the low.Health Question & Answer

I'd recommend about 50mg of benadryl, about 30 minutes before bed, as you are attempting to fall asleep, make sure that you refrain from the computer or long TV sessions, or anything that will cause your brain much action, however you may need more than 50mg, if in case you need less than 50mg, as in your finding it hard to wake up in the morning, you may need to switch to 25mg and see how that goes, if normal OTC sleep aids are not doing the trick talk to your normal doctor and see what he thinks, or see if he can write your something to help your sleep.Health Question & Answer

I have problems sleeping and was advised to lay in a dark room, listening to music and just to listen to the music and to not think about anything at all.

At first i had problems trying to concentrate on the music as i kept thinking about things, but after a few days it starts to work and helps you drift off to sleepHealth Question & Answer

Okay, but you're not exercising! Just an hour per day would help. Make sure you're not consuming anything with caffeine in it after noon. If you need help falling to sleep you can take, safely, benadryl. That is what my doctor recommended. It's not addictive and it doesn't make you all fuzzy in the morning.Health Question & Answer

if you think you're having trouble falling asleep or staying asleep here are some foods to natually help you sleep:

-bananas
-warm milk
-turkey meat

these three foods contain an amino acid (building block of protein) called typtophan which causes sleepiness naturally.
and avoid exercising before you go to bed

I've often suffered with the same problem and I found an answer.

Pills and warm baths may help you relax a bit but you need to get back to a point where your body is dog tired at bed time. A strange but highly effective way of doing this is to literally stay up all night and force yourself to remain awake when morning comes. By this time you will feel awful and unsteady and be crying out for sleep... but stay awake!!. Around 11 am take a short nap (1-2 hours maximum) and then stay up to about 7.00 pm. By that time you will be so desperately in need of sleep you will probably sleep for 12 hours thereby re-establishing your sleep cycle.

Obviously you need to do this on the weekend, not on a work day. Let me know if it works for you.

Best of luck.Health Question & Answer

First of all make sure you have been hydrated lately as if you are at all dehydrated you will have insomnia problems. With that said I read this tip in Dr. Batmangheldij book "you're not sick you're thirsty" 15 min before you go to bed wet your finger and dip it in sea salt then lick it off and let it dissolve on your tongue. Before you do the salt drink 6oz of water other wise repeated use of the salt with no water can cause a bloody nose. This process makes you fall into a hypnotic sleep. I thought it was unbelieveable until I tried it for myself. It works. Don't take my word for it read the book it is an excellent book. Good luck to you. also calcium magnesium about 1/2 hour before bed helps as well because it relaxes the body. Health Question & Answer
