It's possible to build a tolerance.

You should watch how much you take, since it builds up in your liver. Especially if you drink at all.

And IMO there are much better OTC meds for headaches anyway that aren't as toxic.
Health Question & Answer

You can build up a tolerance, meaning that your body becomes immune to the medication. The medication affects your system, and once your system relizes that, it starts to build an immunity.
But you cannot become totalyy immune. If you build up engouh of a tolerance, the medication will not have much of an effect. However, I don't think you need to worry about that.Health Question & Answer

Tylenol is a wonder drug since it doesn't interact negativley with any other drugs and it is impossible to build up a tolerance to it. If it doesn't seem to work, I would try Excedrine or Tylenol migrain instead.Health Question & Answer

Yeah, After taking a medicine for a long period of time or even a lot of the medicine, your body becomes immune to it. If you try something else and then later go back to tylenol, it might begin working again.Health Question & Answer

it is true that your body can develop an immunity to it after a while and treat it as simply food that is why most people use a combination of Motrin in between uses of TylenolHealth Question & Answer

lol. well you have two answers... which one will you choose.. mmm.. pick the first one. i think you can take to much. i think that your body will become use to it. or adapt to the use of it as well.Health Question & Answer

Well it's probably not the tylenol that isn't working maybe you have a more severe problem like a migraine and you need a stronger medication. Hope this helpsHealth Question & Answer

I think we build up a resistance to most anything. I use Pamprin for backache and headaches. It's alittle stronger than aspirin and Tylenol.Health Question & Answer

Not in that sense, but if you took say 4 pills at once, almost half would be ineffective which means there is no gain taking more than the maximum suggested. Even daily use should not hinder its effectiveness.Health Question & Answer

In my experience, yes. You will end up having to take an unhealthy amount to get it to work. Switch to advil for a while. Health Question & Answer

Yes. That works for anything. If you take too much of it, it may not work as well anymore. Your body has just gotten use to it. Health Question & Answer

Tylenol never worked for me or many others I know. I do like the Tylenol arthritis one though.. it is helpful. But all other tylenol is worthless.Health Question & Answer

Yes;your body can build a tolerance to the drug; just like any drug. Try Excedrine. That is what I had to start using when Tylenol no longer worked for me either.Health Question & Answer

tylenol doesnt work for headaches anyways. atleast not for mine. i use aspirin for headaches.Health Question & Answer

Yes your body can develop it's own immunity to the effects of the tylenol.
Health Question & Answer

No. Just don't over-dose.Health Question & Answer

Yes, your body begins to get immune. All that means is get a higher dose.Health Question & Answer
