I had an epidural while in labor with my son. I couldn't feel the contractions anymore, hell, I really couldn't feel anything from the neck down. It worked like a charm for me! Health Question & Answer
I had a bout of severe lower back pain (L4/L5) about 6 months ago. I had a bilateral epidural (that is, both sides) in the area to manage the pain. After the initial pain of inflammation (which lasted only a few hours), I had 2-3 days of mild to moderate pain relief (it can last as long as 6 months or indefinitely in some individuals). It did take off the edge, but pain resumed soon after.
I have since gotten rid of my pain by way of exercise and change in diet, but if I ever have back pain again, I will not go through another epidural.
Different people have different results - mine sucked.Health Question & Answer
