How can I ease my sciatica?!

Question: How can I ease my sciatica.?
I'm taking anti inflammatory tablets (nurofen), having hot baths and trying to rest. Thing is, I don't drive and have to walk my kids to school and back every day. By the time I get in I'm in agony. Any advice.?Health Question & Answer

Hi
I'm not a doctor but I think the best sort of relief will come from placing a hot water bottle directly on the pain, also see a G.P, sounds like you need something a lot stronger that just nurofen.

Sciatica is one of the worst pains! If you're already taking anti-inflammatories (and pain killers.?) which are not working sufficiently well, you need to see the Doc. Only they can prescribe stronger tablets. I had distalgesic, which worked a little better when my sciatica was acute.Health Question & Answer

Health Question & Answer

Have you had an MRI to see if you have a ruptured disc.? That happened to me, and it was four months. Two surgeries later I still have chronic sciatia and am on daily pain meds. It helps to wear a back brace when walking for any period of time. Exercise hurts but is important. Physical therapy may help, as will chiropractic treatment.Health Question & Answer
