I have, for the last few months, been experiencing excruciatingly sharp pain in my lower left abdomen - like a hot knife stabbing. It's down low, nearly on my hip, and the 'attacks' of pain last from twenty minutes to two hours at a time. I'm not having any toilet trouble, or pain elsewhere, but around my period it is worse. It's your spleen go to the doctor and they can check you for mononucleosis/mono it's a sickness that you spread by kissing or sharing drinks, etc...
i got it once and your spleen swells up, what ever you do don't run, if you have it. it can burst and you'll have to get it removed. don't freak out tho cause you can take steroids to get it better.

See a doctor for test analysis could be Organ failure or a cyst

There are lots of reasons you could be having pain in that region. Your ovary is in that area.It could be a cyst or a tumor, or it could be just gas. You need to be evaluated by your primary care provider.Health Question & Answer
Just make sure it's not every other month.....my wife had a fallopian tube blockage and it was very painful. I'd ask the doc at this point.....don't mess with pain, it's there for a reason....to get your attention!Health Question & Answer

I do not know what you have and the fat that I am not girl may make a difference in my answer. All my life I've been a nervous person and this has causes me a terrible problem. When I get super nervous my lower left abdomen pain intensely, like if there were a knife trying to cut through.
Well over time I have figured that this is caused from my nervousness and that, what I believe is my small intestine, bloats and stretches, therefore my pain.
I don't know if this is any help, but I have a pain similar to yours. If you are a nervous person, I would advise to control yourself on your emotions as I have. This is the only way I can prevent the pain. But if you are not a nervous person, than you might have a cyst in your ovary as someone wrote before. You might want to buy a magnetic therapy bed. I saw on a Spanish channel that they can cure these illnesses if not too advanced. I would have bought one but am under age and don't have money. Might help.? don't know.Health Question & Answer
