Answers:
First, remember than $40 a visit is not paid by everyone, that insurance companies rarely pay what the therapist is asking (medicare and other insurance compaines often pay only half of the price), that you have to pay the PT, the PTAs, tech, manager, liability insurance, electricity and other utilities, etc.

Imagine that one PT sees 14 patients in a day and each one had a $40 co pay...that's $560...well, half of that typically goes to PT salary...and you haven't even covered all your expenses yet.

...it's not a ridiculous amount of money at all...it gets eaten up rather quickly.

Yet, you happen to have an exceptionally high co-pay. Most people typically have a $20 co pay or no co-pay at all for their services. Health Question & Answer

$40 is a very reasonable price, When I was in the hospital & had 15 minutes of physical therapy a day, I was billed $98, per session. $ 40 really isn't a lot when you consider Overhead to run the place.Health Question & Answer

Do you have insurance.? That may be your copayment amount per visit...so in fact, they are making what your insurance pays plus the $40. Don't forget that they have to pay the therapists, keep their equipment current and pay all of the bills to run the facility!Health Question & Answer
