What is this pain?is it serious?!

Question: What is this pain.?is it serious.?
Sometimes whenever i'm waking up and i go to stretch, one of my legs cramps up.Or that's what wakes me up.I just took a nap,and i just had the same cramp in my arm this time.It really hurts, and i can actually feel the bone or muscle(not really sure)go back in place.I've heard that it's caused by lack of water, but i'm not really sure.Health Question & Answer

It can be that, but most likely you are low on potassium and magnesium, but drinking water does help. If you just drink soda's and any sugary drinks, that's no good. Eat a banana a day, there are vitamin and mineral drinks sold that may also help. I don't believe it is anything serious. But if you want to make sure, make an appointment with your Doctor and have some tests done. Good luck to you sir.Health Question & Answer

*You can try taking Vitamin E. Sometimes that helps with cramping in legs, etc. I've taken it at times and it's helped me. But, I don't know if you're on any other medication so if you are, check with your doctor or pharmacist first.

Potassium level can be low and so you can eat bananas. They're good for that.

Never heard of cramps in the arm like you describe but I've certainly had them in my leg like you describe. When I stretch without thinking and then realize it, I immediately stop because I'm afraid I'll get a leg cramp. Boy, those things hurt!

Yes, maybe you should drink more fluids, water in particular. I mean, it can't hurt you right.? So why not try that.Health Question & Answer

I think James P is right. I had that a while back because of low potassium.Health Question & Answer
