Joint cracking/popping?!


Question: Joint cracking/popping.?
Recently, my ankle has started cracking/popping when running, or when my foot undergoes the full motion of backwards and forwards. I don't remember having injured my ankle, so what should I do in terms of the ankle itself, and in terms of stopping the cracking/popping.?Health Question & Answer

With the new info you provided, I have concluded this is normal and just sounds of cartilage.
When CPR is provided to a cardiac arrest victim, the first person that begins it usually hears popping and cracking and believes this is ribs breaking, when it is actually just cartilage.

I have the same issue with my knee - it cracks every bend. Same as you, no injury.
This has happened for as long as I can remember - would be probably at least 20 years. No damage or problems with my knee - just makes that sound.

I think you'll have to go to the Orthopedic Dr. Get some X rays done and if possible a MRI, (it's more precise). I broke my knee's posterior ligament and now my knee won't stop popping. You'll have to check it out soon.Health Question & Answer

I would go to a chiropractor, it doesn't hurt and they can help you out. They can treat your problem unlike a doctor they can only treat your symptoms and that is with medication. I believe the chiropractor will help you.
