Has anyone had numb legs after back surgery ?!

Question: Has anyone had numb legs after back surgery .?
I had a spinal fusion almost a month ago & my thighs from hips to my knee's are still numb but very painful. Some say it was from the table I was on up side down for over 7 hours. I wished I could see a picture of that table.Health Question & Answer

It has only been a month since your surgery. Give it time. This is fairly normal during the extensive (at least four months) healing period. There is always a chance that you may have a degree of pain from now on, but trust me, you can learn to live with it. Being impatient will only frustrate you more. You're only human, and our bodies take more time than we like to heal.
And yeah, that table is as traumatic as the surgery itself. I told my surgeon next time I will insist on being dressed in a cute leather outfit before they string me up that like that again! Health Question & Answer

Talk to your surgeon about this. Nerve regenerates about one inch per month so it is going to take quite a few months before you will know if this is going to be permanent. The nerves themselves were traumatized by the procedure and that alone will take some period of recovery.Health Question & Answer
