Is it possible to be under general anesthesia and feel the pain without being able to wake up?!

Question: Is it possible to be under general anesthesia and feel the pain without being able to wake up.?
Answers:
The only way you could be under, still feel the pain and the doctor's wouldn't know it is if they gave you paralyzing medicine. They tell you if they're going to do that...and usually it is only given for surgeries such as heart surgery or blunt traumas. When you are only under general anesthesia and can feel the pain your heart rate and blood pressure will rise drastically and your muscles will jump or tense up when you feel pain. If this happens your doctors immediately know and will give you more medicine to make sure you are completely under and unaware. Health Question & Answer

It is completely possible but the chances of you remembering are slim since they give you a good dose of medication that also causes amnesia. The point where you thought you fell asleep, you didn't you were still well aware and awake but won't remember. There have been many cases where the patient has woken up during surgery but this is due to poor nursing skills as they were obviously not watching the monitors as they should have been.

Lets just hope you never experience this! Health Question & Answer
