Hi

The humming noise is called tinnitus and it can indicate serious hearing damage that could result in permanent deafness. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news, but dude, you only have one body and set of ears and they have to last you all your life! Take care of them!

A couple of DJ friends of mine have the same problem (one is deaf in one ear now) and they have started using attenuating earplugs so they can still DJ and go to clubs - you'll notice more and more people using these in clubs and gigs now.

You can find some more information at the 'Don't Lose The Music' campaign here:

also the BBC has some good info:

For a start, see a doctor and get them to give you a hearing test to check how bad the damage is. If you are careful now you can prevent it getting any worse.

Good luck and don't lose the music!Health Question & Answer

Yup, the problem with listening loud music is that it badly affects the sense of hearing which if damage, is irreversible.Health Question & Answer

the ringing in your ears might be tinitus. Contact your doctor. Health Question & Answer
