Fainted in history...?!


Question: Fainted in history....?
we were watching a video there was a lot of blood in it and i'm very squeamish. i told my mate who i was sitting next to i was gonna faint and she told the teacher. the teacher asked if i wanted to go outside to get fresh air and i said yes so she followed me outside to make sure i was ok. then, when we were in the corridor, i fainted onto her. i woke up a few minutes later andi was on the floor, not knowing what had happened. i heard soneone saying get the first aider - shes passed out. then they left me there. the first aider came in about a minute and carried me to the office. i didn't get sent home. i'm a girl by the way. do you have any ideas to stop being squeamish.?Health Question & Answer

Caz is right. also, make sure you maintain steady breathing. Sometimes when you get light-headed, you may forget to breath for a few seconds. I'm not a doctor, but would guess that will only make you faint more quickly. Another thing that makes you faint is standing with your knees locked straight. It cuts off too much circulation. Any sudden change in blood pressure can make you faint.
As for helping squeamishness...I'm unaware of any cure. A lot of people faint at the first sight of blood. Like when they have to get a shot or give blood. Only you can change how you react to it. Mind over matter.?Health Question & Answer

I don't know if you can stop yourself being squeamish, but if you ever feel like you are going to faint again the thing to do is sit down and put your head down between your knees.... you look a bit daft but it makes the blood go to your head which will stop you from fainting.Health Question & Answer
