Physical exam to get medical insurance?!
Question: Physical exam to get medical insurance.?
I've never had medical insurance, but I'm in my mid 30's, and I'm starting to fear that if I don't get it, something bad will happen, I'll go bankrupt, and it'll be the end of any chance at having a good prosperous life or a retirement.
But from what I understand, you have to have a physical before you can get medical insurance. Somehow, I got all the way through the navy and all their physicals without once getting the finger, and now I have this morbid fear of having my prostate checked or anything at all that involves the finger. I just don't think I can go through with it.
So my question is, is the finger a normal part of the physical I'd need to get before I could get medical insurance.? I mean am I going to have to choose between having medical insurance and avoiding the finger.?Health Question & Answer

You are going to have to get over this fear sometime. Sooner is better than later.

Urologists do exams all day every day. Do you think they will find your rectum different that the next guy's.?
Have you ever inspected your own rectum.? It isn't difficult or even interesting.
I can only imagine what you are afraid of. Did you have a bad experience.? If so, there are counselors who hear this kind of thing all the time. It would really help you to talk it out.
