Ive been taking oxycodone (5mgOxy/325mgAPAP) all day for my wisdom teeth but recreationally. Ive taken about 6 in the past couple hours. Im now running low in Oxycodone so now i think im going to take some Hydrocodone (7.5mgHydro/500APAP) when im coming down off the oxy's later. Will these two drugs react badly if taken together.?
also, i dont want to take Xanax tonight but i have 3 pills of xanax (0.25mg) and ive never tried it before. Should i take all three to get high or more or less for a first time.?Health Question & Answer

I don't know about the Xanax, but I'd advise against taking the Hyrdocodone today. Morphine-based painkillers cause dependency easily, but obviously your prescription is for a limited amount so you want the most "effect" from them right now with little concern for becoming addicted. The main concern I have, however, is the high amounts of acetaminophen in these pills. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is processed through the liver (as with many pharmaceuticals) and taking such high doses of it can be very strenuous on that organ as a result. Certainly don't do any drinking, but in my opinion save those hydrocodones for another day.
As a side note, I received a prescription of 20 hydrocodones when I had my wisdom teeth removed. I took them all over the course of 4-5 days just for the fun of it and they worked great. A nice laid back and relaxed feeling and just a general feeling of well-being. For several months following this my stomach felt crappy nearly all the time, as if I'd damaged it somehow... I'd feel stomach pains as if I was hungry but would eat and feel stomach pains of being full. No matter what I felt crappy and I can only attribute it to the pills.
Nowadays, years later, I've used a variety of opioid painkillers here and there but none provide any "high" whatsoever. I've used hydrocodone, Oxycontin, Percocet, Lortab (stay away!), and even once had a methadone pill. None of these achieved any affects other than to kill pain as intended, even when taking one or more pills over the prescribed amount.
Basically, don't overdo these pills and enjoy the few that you have while you have them because they're not a good way to get high, either in the short-term or the long-run.Health Question & Answer
