Are there any risks to piercing my own ear?!

Question: Are there any risks to piercing my own ear.?
i want to pierce my ear lobes again, ive got all the stuff, and im all ready to go, but i looked some stuff up about it, and people keep saying things about being careful not to pierce through any veins or nerves, because this could cause serious damage. how much attention should i pay to this.? is is likely to be a problem.? or should i just get on with it.? how would i even know where the veins / nerves are in my ear.?

okay i pierced my own and hit a vein and it just bleeds a lot.
then you try another spot and it should work.
you know if you hit a vein if.. you try to push it through and it just wont go and then you take out the needs and it starts bleeding like crazy.
good luck! you should be fine.Health Question & Answer

If you are re-piercing your ear lobes you need to make sure not to pierce through the last holes from piercing. If you pierce through the scar tissue it won't heal right, so pierce as close as you can to the last piercing. I've never heard of anyone having to watch for nerves in the earlobe. if you do it yourself make sure to keep the area clean before and after the piercing, and I suggest that you actually pick up piercing cleaner from a piercing shop to clean it.Health Question & Answer
