Question: Weird white strings coming from the end of my fingers.?
I was at work and got 3/4 inch screw almost buried into my thumb, when I took it out there were these little white strings that I pulled on and some were almost 5 inches long what is this.? My co-workers all said they're nerves and stop doing that, did I do some serious damage to my thumb or what.?Health Question & Answer

its not nerves them selves there nerve endings i dont recommend pulling on them as you can lose feeling on that finger if you havent all readyHealth Question & Answer
Go to the ER, any puncture wound or weird stuff like that needs to be looked at. Your covered through workman's comp and you boss should of insisted you go. You cannot afford to lose your thumb to infection or lose nerve endings. Make sure you file a report too. Cover your butt--cause you know they'll cover theirs!
Ask your self how much is your thumb worth to you.? If they give you a hard time remember that your job is worth much less than years of pain, physical therapy and whatever else that might come along. If they resist it, call OSHA. They eat that kinda stuff for lunch.Health Question & Answer
