Arm and hand pain in only one arm.?!

Question: Arm and hand pain in only one arm..?
For about two weeks now I have had this really bad pain in my right arm,it shoots up and down my arm usually from my shoulder to my hand then thumb and throbs badly. Whenever it is bent,or any pressure is applied it seems to happen most. It has been occuring more recently lately and is very painful. I am 25 male and relatively healthy I think. I am unsure what is causing it, I had thought at first I was just sleeping on it but now it even bothers me randomly while I sit up. It goes a little numb then feels like pressure and starts to ache badly and throb sometimes it shoots down to my hand and my thum or whole hand will hurt really bad. I have no known health issues and I realize a bunch of comments will say "see a doctor" but i don;t have the best insurance and don't have money to see one perhaps some good ideas will come on here. Oh the only time it feels half way normal is if I completeley relax the arm even typing i can feel it either do to tensing the muscles or because it's slightly bent. Again occurring for around 3 weeks now.Health Question & Answer

If the symptoms subside when you relax, this is most likely not a circulatory problem but a nerve problem that can be easily corrected by a chiropractor. To be more specific, the C5 nerve in your neck is being pinched.Health Question & Answer

Dr. Suglia is absolutely correct-- you are experiencing a pinched nerve that is sending pain signals all the way down your arm on one side for no obvious reason. I understand you are unable to afford a doctor's visit-- can you afford to spend some money on a chiropractor.? It shouldn't take one long to rectify your problem.

Only you can decide how much money is worth making the pain go away. When the pain becomes bad enough, the money will be found. Good luck.Health Question & Answer

It could be a number of things such as peripherial artery disease, carpal tunnel syndrome, or it could be a pinched nerve within the arm a well. I would go and have it seen to by a doctor. You need to make sure that it is controlled if it is any of the above things.Health Question & Answer

maybe carpal tunnel.Health Question & Answer

See a doctor IMMEDIATELY! My husband has the same 'symptoms' and he has peripheral arterial disease in both legs and now his right arm. We are working to get his cholesterol down and get him to lose weight, but it's difficult. You are half as young as he is, and you do need to see a doctor no later than Monday! It's for your own good. if it's not PAD is possibly cervical radiculopathy, which is a pinched nerve in your neck. Either way, you need to see your doctor and get thoroughly checked out. YOUR LIFE IS AT STAKE!Health Question & Answer
