Leg cramp/charlie horse problem?!


Question: Leg cramp/charlie horse problem.?
Okay I just wanted to know a way that you can get rid of charlie horses or leg cramps really quickly on the spot and they wont come back because I play sports but I get them unusually often and intense so when it does happen, I'll stretch and massage it and it'll go away for like a minute until I try to jump or run again and then I cant play anymore because it comes back whenever I try to run or jump, please help for immediate way to rid yourself of leg cramps for a long time.Health Question & Answer

My understanding is that it's a potasium imbalance issue that causes the cramp, so the morning of your competition or sports, drink lots of OJ and have a banana. When the cramp DOES hit, breath first, then wiggle your toes slowly. Start with millimeters and work up to flexing the whole foot and leg to release the muscle.

Are you hydrated enough when you are playing.? It is possible that the cramps are from dehydration and the loss of electrolytes. For this use a sports drink before during and after the game or practice. As for the reduction of a cramp squeeze the upper lip as hard as you can and the cramp will disappear.
