Answers:
It might be IBS.

Pain in your left side usually means IBS. The severity of the pain depends. When I have my symptoms sometimes when I breathe it hurts. The pain just kind of comes and goes. It feels like someone is squeezing really hard in that area then lets go. When the pain is really bad it hurts even more and the pain is sharp and hurts really bad at one point then subsides then comes right back and it can go on like that for hours.Health Question & Answer

Actually...it may NOT be appendicitis hun, but you can get pain in your left side when it's appendicitis. Sometimes the pain gets deferred....

Diverticulitis

What are the symptoms.?

Symptoms of diverticulitis may last from a few hours to a week or more. Symptoms include:

* Belly pain, usually in the lower left side, that is sometimes worse when you move. This is the most common symptom.
* Fever and chills.
* Bloating and gas.
* Diarrhea or constipation.
* Nausea and sometimes vomiting.
* Not feeling like eating.

Call your health professional immediately if you have pain in the abdomen that is in one spot (as opposed to general pain in the abdomen), especially if you also have:

* Fever or chills.
* Nausea and vomiting.
* Unusual changes in your bowel movements or abdominal swelling.
* Blood in your stool.
* Pain that is worse when you move.
* Burning pain when you urinate.
* Abnormal vaginal discharge.

Call your health professional immediately if you have:

* Severe pain in the abdomen that is getting worse.
* Pain in the abdomen that becomes worse when you move or cough.
* A stool that is mostly blood (more than a few streaks of blood on the stool). Blood in the stool may appear as reddish or maroon-colored liquid or clots or may produce a black, tarlike stool.
* Shoulder pain (possibly from air in the abdomen due to a hole or perforation in the intestine).

Appendicitis

What are the symptoms.?

The main symptom of appendicitis is belly pain. Many people feel the first pain near the belly button. Then it moves to the lower right side of the belly. But the pain can be in different parts of your belly or even on your side or back. The pain may get worse if you move, walk, or cough. You may also have a fever or feel sick to your stomach.

Sometimes the only symptom is a general feeling of not being well and a pain that is hard to describe. The pain in your belly may be different than any pain you have had before. It may be severe. Or it may not seem like a very strong pain, but you may have the feeling that something is wrong. Trust your instincts.

Because the diagnosis is not always easy to make, it is very important to see a doctor as soon as possible if you have symptoms.

In some cases, appendicitis does not cause any symptoms except for belly pain. If you have moderate belly pain that does not go away after 4 hours, call your doctor. If you have severe belly pain, call your doctor right away.Health Question & Answer
