I got a belly piercing, but I'm going for an MRI soon. ?!
Question: I got a belly piercing, but I'm going for an MRI soon. .?
I got my belly button pierced Oct. 21.
And I have to get an MRI on Nov. 13
I have NO idea how to take the thing out, nevermind put it back in!!
I'm getting the MRI on my knee, so I'll be going in feet first. Do you think it will be fine.? Or should I go to the piercing place and get a plastic ring.? or get a ring that I can remove and take out.? And if I DO take it out will the hole close up.?
And I have metal rods in my back, so it shouldn't be THAT bad.. .?
Thank you everyone :)Health Question & Answer

Since it hasn't really been long since you got it done, I would go get the plastic retainer ring. They'll be able to show you how to take it out & replace it (which they should have done to begin with). Usually you just unscrew one of the balls. Good luck!Health Question & Answer
Well, if you go in there with a metal ring, the person administering the MIR is going to have you remove it. On the off chance he misses it and you still go in there, the magnet in the MRI will rip it out the hard way.
An MRI test only lasts about an hour, so the hole shouldn't close up so long as you replace the ring after you are done. Health Question & Answer
