I developed a dry socket and have had excruciating pain with it. I called up my Oral Surgeon and he packed it with whatever the substance is. It's been about an hour and twenty minutes and it still hurts. Why.? Should I be worried.?Health Question & Answer

Those hurt really bad. The pain will even break through narcotics.
It could hurt really bad for up to two or three days. If it's unbearable, call and see if the doc will give you novocaine. It will only keep it pain free for a few hours, but it's better than nothing.
